Conflict of Interest Policy for IJNSET

At the International Journal of New Scientific Exploration in Technology (IJNSET), we are committed to upholding the highest standards of transparency and integrity. Our Conflict of Interest (COI) policy is based on the guidelines provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). A conflict of interest occurs when personal, professional, financial, or other considerations may compromise or bias the judgment of authors, reviewers, or editors. Below, we outline our policy regarding COI in the publication process.

Definition of Conflict of Interest

Conflicts of interest can influence the judgment of authors, reviewers, and editors. These conflicts may not always be immediately apparent and, if revealed later, could lead a reasonable reader to feel misled. Conflicts can be personal, commercial, political, academic, or financial. Examples of financial conflicts include employment, research funding, stock or share ownership, payments for lectures or travel, consultancies, or company support for staff.

For further information, please refer to COPE guidelines: COPE Conflict of Interest Guidelines.

Responsibilities of Participants

Authors

Authors are responsible for disclosing any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest related to their research. This includes personal relationships, academic commitments, institutional obligations, and other factors that may affect the outcomes of their work.

All authors must complete the Conflict of Interest Declaration form and submit it along with their article.

Journals / Publisher Action

The conflict of interest statement should be included after the acknowledgment section in each article. If there are no conflicts, the Disclosures section should state: “The authors declare no conflicts of interest.”

Reviewers

Reviewers must declare any potential conflicts of interest that may influence their impartiality in reviewing a manuscript. This includes personal, financial, intellectual, professional, political, or religious interests. Reviewers should also disclose if they are employed at the same institution as any of the authors or have been recent collaborators (within the past 3 years) or joint grant holders.

Journals / Publisher Action

Reviewers will be asked to confirm whether they have any conflicts of interest with the content or authors of a manuscript. If a conflict is identified, the reviewer will be removed from the review process.

Editors

Editors should recuse themselves from making editorial decisions on manuscripts if they, or close family members, have any financial, political, religious, or personal conflicts of interest related to the article. This also applies if the article is submitted from their own institution. Articles submitted by editors to the same journal should be handled by another member of the Editorial Board.

Journals / Publisher Action

Editors responsible for final manuscript decisions must recuse themselves from editorial decisions if they have conflicts of interest or relationships that may pose potential conflicts with the articles under consideration.
